Best Body Scrub for Kuwait Summer: How to Exfoliate Without Drying Your Skin

تم نشره بواسطة The Towel Turban على

Kuwait heat is hard on skin. Air conditioning dries it out indoors, the sun and dust roughen it outdoors, and by evening elbows, knees and shoulders feel tight and look dull. A body scrub once or twice a week is the simplest fix, but most scrubs sold in Kuwait are either harsh salt scrubs that sting, or sugar scrubs that leave a greasy film. Here is what to look for, and how to use one properly in our climate.

Why exfoliate at all in a hot climate

Dead skin builds up faster when you sweat and shower more often. That layer blocks moisturiser from doing its job, which is why body cream can feel like it sits on the skin instead of sinking in. Removing it gently lets whatever you apply afterwards work properly, and it is the reason freshly scrubbed skin looks brighter in photos.

What a good summer body scrub should have

  • A moisturising base, not an oil slick. Shea butter is ideal. It melts at skin temperature, carries the exfoliating grains, and leaves a soft finish instead of a greasy one. You can get dressed straight after showering.
  • Fine, rounded grains. Coarse salt scratches. Fine sugar dissolves as you massage, so it polishes rather than scrapes.
  • A scent you actually want to wear. Scrubs are rinsed off, but a well made one leaves a trace of fragrance on the skin. Ours are inspired by well known perfumes, so the scent layers with your body cream and your perfume rather than fighting them.
  • Natural ingredients and a short list. Fewer irritants matter more when skin is already stressed by sun.

How to use it in Kuwait summer

  1. Scrub in the evening, not before going out in the sun. Freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to UV.
  2. Use it on damp skin, after a minute under warm water. Massage in circles with light pressure. Let the grains do the work.
  3. Focus on elbows, knees, heels and the backs of the arms. Go lighter on the chest and neck.
  4. Rinse, pat dry, and apply body cream while skin is still slightly damp. This locks in moisture for the next day in the AC.
  5. Twice a week is enough. More than that and skin gets irritated rather than smoother.
